Preventative Care for Kittens:

To ensure that your kitten receives complete preventative care to protect against disease, we recommend a series of visits.

During these visits, your kitten will receive all vaccinations needed to maintain good health.  In addition, a veterinarian will thoroughly examine your kitten to identify any potential problems.

Because your kitten’s health and well-being will depend on more than just vaccinations, we will sit down and talk with you about caring for your kitten, behavior issues, and answer any questions you might have.

Kitten Series Visits consist of:

  • Comprehensive Physical Exam
  • Internal parasite (worm) testing & treatment
  • Pet owner counseling regarding pet care, housebreaking, behavior problems and socialization
  • Microchipping
  • Vaccinations, which may include:
  1. Feline Calicivirus
  2. Feline  Rhinotracheitis
  3. Rabies
  4. Feline Leukemia
  5. Panleukopenia
  6. Feline Herpevirus
  7. Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)

Maintaining the Health of Your Adult Cat:

In order to maintain your cat’s health, we recommend the following annual preventative healthcare:

  • Comprehensive Physical Exam to detect signs of disease, illness or aging concerns
  • Intestinal parasite (worm) testing
  • Vaccinations, which may include:
  1. Feline Distemper -- to protect against feline respiratory diseases (Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus) and Panleukopenia (Distemper)
  2. Feline Leukemia
  3. Rabies vaccine
  4. Feline Infectious Peritonitis

All cats benefit from yearly physical examinations that include a fecal examination for intestinal parasites.  An annual physical examination and yearly report from the owner can help our veterinarians detect health conditions at an early stage.  Caring for your pet while it is healthy is more cost effective and creates happy, healthy pets.

As your cat ages, we offer services to monitor organ function including thyroid, kidneys, and liver.  Geriatric blood profiles can identify early changes and allow us to treat or slow down the progression of disease.
