Beginning Preventative Care for Puppies:
To ensure that your puppy receives complete preventative care to protect against disease, we recommend a series of three visits.
During these visits, your puppy will receive all vaccinations needed to maintain good health. In addition, a veterinarian will thoroughly examine your puppy to identify any potential problems.
Because your puppy’s health and well-being will depend on more than just vaccinations, we will sit down and talk with you about caring for your puppy, training and behavior concerns, and answer any questions you might have.
Puppy Series Visits consist of:
- Comprehensive Physical Exam
- Internal parasite (worm) testing & treatment
- Pet owner counseling regarding pet care, housebreaking, behavior problems and socialization
- Microchipping
- Vaccinations, which may include:
- Distemper
- Canine Parvovirus
- Adenovirus
- Bordetella
- Leptospirosis
- Corona
- Lymes Disease
- Giardia
Maintaining the Health of Your Adult Dog:
In order to maintain your dog’s health, we recommend the following annual preventative healthcare:
- Comprehensive Physical Exam to detect signs of disease, illness or aging concerns
- Intestinal parasite (worm) testing
- Heartworm testing and preventative medication
- Vaccinations, which may include:
- DHLPP to protect against Distemper, Canine Hepatitis/Adenovirus Type 1 & 2, Canine Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, Canine Parvovirus
- Lyme vaccine to protect against Lyme Disease
- Rabies vaccine
- Bordetella vaccine for kennel cough
All dogs benefit from yearly physical examinations that include a fecal examination for intestinal parasites, and a heartworm test (blood test) for adult heartworms.
An annual physical examination and yearly report from the owner can help our veterinarians detect health conditions at an early stage.
Caring for your pet while he or she is healthy is more cost effective and creates happy, healthy pets.
